Unfortunately we have to leave today from a far too short stay at No.39. It has been fabulous – Galle is beautiful. But the best thing has been No.39. Spacious,relaxing, so lovely and the team looked after us so well. The food was spectacular – starting with curry for lunch on arrival. We had the crab (twice), hoppers for breakfast and the parrot fish last night. I am going to recommend No.39 to everyone and I’m hoping I can come back and enjoy it all again.

’39 Galle Fort’ is a fantastic place to stay. It has a central location in the Fort, all is in walkable distance. The villa is very well designed, with the old colonial features well preserved in a modern facility. Great place to relax after a daytrip to the countryside or beaches, great place to doze a day away while staying in the Fort. Good for kids. The service of the house staff was truly excellent, with good local dishes cooked from scratch (recommended the fresh tuna curry)and a very friendly attitude towards their guests. We were looking for a little oasis to celebrate our mom’s 70th birthday, and it’s safe to say that we
indeed found it here. We wanted a place that was homely and provided us with the comfort of being
close to family. We were able to have a celebration with family that drove over from Colombo in the
comfort of the villa.
Our experience was augmented by the exceptional service provided by Imalka and his mother-in-law.
Not a single detail was overlooked. The food was amazing. Imalka and his mother-in-law cooked for 10
of our guests and provided the best service we have come across. Just between the two of them! We
are very grateful for all of their assistance and service.
The villa, although in the middle of the busy fort, is very calm and serene. It provided us with the
atmosphere we were looking for when we looked for a villa to stay within the confines of the fort.
We will definitely come back and recommend the villa. We will for sure come back for the exceptional
service from the staff. Keep up the great work!
